Horizon Hobby has selected leading ecommerce solutions provider Red Technology as their EU, trade-only ecommerce solutions partner. Working collaboratively with Horizon Hobby UK, Red's ecommerce consultants have shaped the requirements for a new B2B ecommerce solution, designed to service Horizon Hobby's extensive European dealer network.
Advanced B2B ecommerce platform features and capabilities
Working in close partnership with Horizon Hobby UK, Red specified and shaped a B2B ecommerce solution to drive online orders from existing and new distributors. The ecommerce solution delivered by Red boasts an advanced B2B feature set which has been leveraged at each stage to aid Horizon Hobby UK in achieving success through their ecommerce strategy. Some of the specific B2B features include a quick order pad with CSV upload facility for immediate entry of product codes and rapid order generation, multiple payment methods such as purchasing on account, multiple price lists linked to highly configurable and complex display rules, live stock indicators, and dynamic pricing - displaying the profit margin percentage for each product - with controls for switching between RRP & trade price.

Red's B2B ecommerce solution features an enhanced customer account area which has been specifically designed to provide Horizon Hobby's European customers with high levels of control and visibility. The enhanced area includes detailed order histories, individual invoices, present order statuses, saved baskets, multiple delivery address management, member management and also supports the reactivation of past orders. A final, yet crucial, success factor of the project was to ensure that the ecommerce solution fully integrated with Horizon Hobby's regional SAP Business One ERP systems. The integration was performed via Red's Data Transfer Services application layer - the DTS allows for complete control over the integration and the two-way data feeds.www.horizonhobby.co.uk
