Web Hosting Service, Infrastructure

RED's web hosting service infrastructure has been designed and deployed to provide maximum redundancy and scalability. We use redundant firewall clusters from industry leading vendors and have diverse paths to and from all core, distribution and access hardware attached to the network.  Multiple 100Mbps and 1Gbps redundant transit feeds ensure we always utilise the best and quickest path to the internet as well as ensuring maximum uptime. Dedicated Server, Monitoring & Reporting

ICMP, HTTP and SSL port monitoring is displayed visually in our Operations centre. Services down incidents are responded to according to the customised procedures in place for each individual client.

Advanced website monitoring analyses the response received and performs an evaluation as to whether the website application is responding as it should. If an error is detected a visual alert as well as an email alert is raised automatically. Action can then be taken to speedily resolve the application issue as agreed individually with each client.

As standard RED provides a range of additional online reporting include web log, usage of disks, CPU & RAM, number of connections and visitors. In fact we can monitor, report, alert and trigger actions against any process, with an SNMP MIB or WMI. Web Hosting Service, 24x7 Operational Support

RED has a hosting department dedicated to datacentre operations. The Operations centre is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.  Visual and automated reporting are checked and acted upon when required.

Staff are trained and appropriate documentation is maintained regarding customer system configuration to ensure the information needed is available. Our Operations staff are instrumental in providing the level of service that our customers demand. RED has a policy of staff training and maintaining vendor accreditation.

Customer support issues are managed using an Incident Logging System. Support issues are categorised using the following definitions

  1. Non-Critical – enquiry or not related to service
  2. Low - customer's services are not affected
  3. Medium - Customers services are affected or degraded but not totally unavailable
  4. High - Customers services are severely Affected or are totally unavailable

  • 2 Diverse Power Supplies both with diesel generator backup
  • Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus (VESDA) installed
  • Smoke detection system
  • FM200 fire suppression system
