Cost effective and comprehensive solution enhances communication strategy ~

REDtechnology.com (RED), a leading content management specialist, has been selected by Pegasus Software as its solution provider of choice for the design and delivery of its extranet service.  RED is working with the team at Pegasus, one of the leading UK-based providers of financial and performance management solutions to small and medium sized enterprises, to deploy its flagship ConductIT solution across the company.

Kathryne Jobling, research and development director for Pegasus, commented: “The web is a crucial communications tool for businesses and consumers around the world. Therefore we wanted to build a more effective extranet to enable us to enhance and maintain the quality, timeliness and ease with which we can publish and distribute crucial technical, commercial and corporate information with our staff and partners around the country. Having looked at alternatives we chose ConductIT from RED as it offers us a cost effective and comprehensive solution that will meet our needs both now and in the future.”

Pegasus was specifically looking for a solution that would streamline and simplify the many information sources it utilised which, as the business grew, were proving increasingly difficult to maintain. Jobling explained: “Like many businesses we found that we and our partners were using large disparate systems to store and source the information that we all need access to if we are to be able to manage and understand our business and its operations better. We recognised that we needed a centralised online repository for all our crucial information and the ability to make that information readily available to authorised business users quickly and efficiently.”

ConductIT is a cost effective content management solution that ensures any website, intranet or extranet is easy to manage and keep up to date. Among its key features are its multi site editing, template management, secure page editing, authorisation, version control and multi language capabilities.  Such functionality will allow Pegasus to easily maintain accurate and relevant information on its extranet without the requirement for time consuming, costly and complex administration and maintenance.

In addition, Jobling has opted to use search engine technology provided by Verity Ultraseek, which is integrated with the ConductIT solution: “Our extranet comprises vast quantities of data and it is vital that users can find the information they need quickly and efficiently. Providing a comprehensive search engine facility will enhance the user experience of our extranet. Essentially we can provide a one stop shop for value add information about our business to our staff and partners alike and all from one single site.”

For a website to be effective it must be kept up to date and relevant to the audience and ConductIT has been designed by RED to be intuitive and easy to manage. Indeed Jobling feels that these are perhaps some of the main strengths of the solution: “From an administration point of view the content owners and editors are primarily marketing and customer service teams. It was important to us that they could readily upload and maintain information without the need to possess complex web programming skills or web master capabilities. ConductIT will enable all our content managers to keep our site dynamic which is fundamental. We can even use ConductIT to deliver specific views of information for specific audiences which will further enhance the user experience and help us deliver focused messages to the right people at the right time and to complement our wider sales and marketing activities.”
