Longacres expands with REDtechnology.com
Leading UK Garden Centre implements bespoke content management solution for UK website
Longacres Nursery, one of the largest garden centres in the south of England, has announced that it will be using REDtechnology.com’s (RED) ConductIT to manage the content on its new Landscaping division’s website, http://www.longacreslandscape.co.uk/.
Longacres Landscape Ltd, who have just won a silver medal at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show, needed a reliable, contemporary and fully scalable website to cater for purchasing and information needs of its expanding customer base. They chose RED’s flagship content management software to develop the new Landscape site.
ConductIT, is a cost effective solution that ensures any website is easy to manage. Key features of the technology include multisite editing, template management, secure page editing, authorisation, version control and multi language capabilities. Such functionality allows users at Longacres to easily maintain accurate and relevant information on their website.
Mike Ainley, IT manager at Longacres, comments: “ REDtechnology.com’s solution has allowed us to take complete control of the website, making vital changes to the content and structure without the need for sophisticated programming skills or over reliance on our IT department. The rich functionality and ease of use of ConductIT includes a raft of web tools that have helped us to effectively illustrate to our customers our creativity and expertise in the new Landscape area of our business. We have seen a marked increase in the level of interest from online customers requesting a landscaping service and they expect the same reliability, quality and value that people get from visiting Longacres in person. So we needed to ensure that services we provide online are up to our high standards. With RED we are confident that we can achieve this providing dynamic, exciting and innovative content.
“In fact ConductIT has already proved its capabilities. It has been fundamental in the success behind one of Longacres most exciting projects yet, the online exhibition of their Silver award winning ‘Ying and Yang’ garden at the Chelsea Flower Show. Customers who visit this new venture are able to view the whole process, from design to build; check the full planting list; and request further information, experiencing the original design, vibrant colours and modern textures of the celebrated garden.
Calvin Litchfield, Managing Director at REDtechnology.com, comments: “Our portfolio has been designed to be functionally rich, flexible, and cost effective and to provide a valuable ecommerce platform for an organisation looking to harness the power of the Internet to drive business growth. Longacres wanted a first class piece of web technology which would support the additional traffic that its customers were generating when they visit the site as well as showcasing the company’s first class gardening expertise and knowledge. Since the deployment of ConductIT there has been a huge increase in the volume of users visiting the website and requesting further information. We have enjoyed working with the team at Longacres to define and roll out a solution that has met both technical and commercial requirements, on time and on budget and we look forward to a long and lasting relationship.”
Longacres is planning to also use REDtechnology.com’s software when launching the company’s e-Commerce website. This is likely to be available during July 2005.
